Title: Dev Ops Support Team Lead
Location: Mowbray, Cape Town
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Delivery
- Successful project delivery
- Ensure team tasks are completed on time
- Ensure high UAT success rate
- Ensure tasks are logged into Task management tool
- Task estimations within acceptable timeframes
- Review teams code and scripts
Reduce Manual Processes
- Create scripts to automate processes
- Ensure systems provide insights and telemetry
Design and implement: QA, UAT and Prod Environments
- QA, UAT and Prod environments up and running and available to key stakeholders
- Provision QA and UAT environments within agreed timeframes
Establish Growth Plan for Team Members
- Monitor staff growth
- Ensure team health
- Facilitate team upskilling
- Ensure team is up to date with new technologies
Customer Relations
- Understanding project requirements and KPI
- Manage internal and external stakeholder expectations
- Co-ordination and communication within the team and customers
Documentation
- Document and define SOPs
- Reporting on incidents and escalations
Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis
- Establish root cause
- Define and Implement preventative measures
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Strong communicator, fluent in English
- Flexible, open-minded, team worker, with a friendly and pleasant personality
- Self-driven, able to work under pressure (deadlines)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage, prioritize and solve problems quickly and completely
- Good Analytical and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with large enterprise support
- Willing to work occasionally in nonstandard working hours (on call and planned work)
- Provide real time support to maintain the necessary functionality and respond to issues as they arise
Mandatory technical skills required to do the job:
- Experience with Application Containerization i.e., Docker
- Process Automation/Continuous integration
- Experience with source control tools and technologies
- Experience with building and managing secure environments
- Knowledge of scripting languages
- Experience with Windows and Linux operation systems
- Experience with setting up and maintaining retail hardware (printers, cash drawers, etc.)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric
- IT qualification would be advantageous
- DevOps certification would be advantageous
- 5 years’ experience in a DevOps environment
- 3 years’ experience in a Managerial position/Leading a team
- Experience within a retail environment
- Exposure to large, distributed enterprise systems, deployment, and management
